I can realize that some states base the appeal of a vehicle for tax functions by a proportion of the retail value when the car was new, but I would consider that a 35-year-outdated mini-motor home would have arrived at it’s lowest value a number of many years back. It can be not the owner’s job to do the investigation. Just notify the clerk at DMV that as far as you know, the authentic appeal was $ 100, and see what kind of response you get from that.

no state requires you to know the price of it to get plates for it, if they told you that then their wrong, they are only allowed to go by present value on it,i got mine licensed for 300.00 bucks total tags and transfer cost, just tell them you gave 500.00 bucks for it,and that’s all they can charge you on taxes, good luck.
